    About the College/Unit/Department: The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) is dedicated to advancing knowledge in agriculture and environmental sciences, while also sharing this knowledge through education and outreach programs. As one of the leading colleges of agriculture in the U.S., CAES is committed to fostering healthy living in Georgia through its research, teaching, and extension activities. The department of Plant Pathology, with a substantial team of nearly 30 faculty and 60 graduate students, is renowned globally for its research and outreach efforts spanning basic, translational, and applied programs, contributing significantly to the agricultural sector, food security, and advancements in pathogen biology.

    Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Plant Pathology or a related discipline
    Position Summary: The Department of Plant Pathology at UGA's College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is seeking a Department Head. Reporting to the Dean of CAES, this role involves providing leadership for academic and research programs across multiple campuses, nurturing faculty development, managing resources, and fostering collaborations within and outside the department.

    Additional Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and/or Extension, with a current or previous rank of associate professor or professor with tenure.
    Preferred Qualifications: Previous rank of professor with tenure and administrative experience in higher education are desirable.
