- Research, teaching, and extension faculty and students are located at the Athens, Tifton, and Griffin Campuses.
- Entomology houses diverse research programs that emphasize sustainability and systems-based approaches addressing environmental threats, food security, and human health. Program emphasis areas include Agroecosystems and Integrated Pest Management, Vector and Medical Entomology, Wetland and Aquatic Ecology, Urban Entomology, Invasive Species Biology, and Social Insects and Pollinator Conservation. Many research programs also advance fundamental knowledge across core disciplines including Evolutionary Biology and Systematics, Chemical Ecology, Insect-Microbe Interactions, Insect-Plant Interactions, Host-Parasite interactions, Molecular Biology, Physiology and Genomics.
- Undergraduate majors are offered in Entomology and Applied Biotechnology. Graduate Programs include the MS and Ph.D. and a non-thesis MPPPM (Masters in Plant Protection and Pest Management). Programs of study can be developed in the research emphasis areas listed above. The Department is a part of the Integrated Life Sciences (ILS) program.
- Graduate studies and research programs are characterized by strong interdepartmental and interdisciplinary ties. The Department hosts a large statewide Extension program focused on applied research to address the needs of farmers and the public in Georgia and worldwide.
