Job Summary


Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Services, the Academic Affairs and Student Services Coordinator will work in close collaboration and partnership with all Degree Programs team members and affiliated offices to support students and ensure successful planning, implementation, and continuous improvement.

This role will be responsible for academic and operational projects and initiatives to support the degree programs unit.


Specific responsibilities include:

Position Description
Master's Programs

  • Create a system and process for yearly assignment of academic advisors. Support logistics associated with advising. Maintain Canvas pages and associated materials for EdM Faculty Advisors, in support of the student advising model
  • Support teamwide project management on events, communications and resources including yearly creation of Canvas pages, marketing cloud lists, August programming dates and locations.
  • Create and track communications schedule/calendar for master's program team and integrate with other relevant offices.
  • Provides logístical support for the Ed.
M. Intellectual Contribution Award, managing nominations, designing certificates, and processing award payments

  • Coordinating and supporting any EdMwide survey development and analysis, as well as supporting residential web presence as needed.
  • Contribute to general residential master's program initiatives as needed.
Team-wide support

  • Develop systems, processes and structures for operation of 2nd floor 1stop student support center
  • Oversee Gutman 2nd floor front desk, including hiring and training student workers, providing front desk coverage as needed.
  • Serve as a source of general information for all students, providing referrals to colleagues within the Gutman 2nd floor suite and other HGSE administrative offices.
  • Provide general administrative support for the master's programs, such as supply orders, catering requests, room reservations, meeting scheduling, and materials preparation
  • Manage financial processes related to assigned duties.
  • Provide coverage for other team members and surge capacity as needed.
  • Develop process for and oversee HR logistics for External and Alumni Readers
  • As needed, assist the Senior Associate Dean with project planning and support
  • This is a twoyear term position with possibility of renewal.
    Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of administrative experience required.
    Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate Excel skills.
  • Previous experience working in higher education supportive academic programs and students strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Previous experience with financial processing preferred.
  • Prior experience in event coordination desired.

Work Format Details

  • This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
