- Prepares solicitation and purchase order documents. Selects appropriate clauses, ensures clear and complete specifications.
- Assists in the review and preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Analyzes and evaluates proposals received.
Makes recommendations to the supervisor for contract award based on factors such as price, delivery terms, contractor responsiveness, conformance with contract specific requirements, etc.
Prepares necessary documents as required. - Assists in establishing negotiations strategy for major procurements by researching precedent information, preparing schedules and other similar documents, etc.

- Serves as Contracting Officer within prescribed limitations.
- Performs contracting support functions such as assembling and maintaining contract files/packages, abstracting bids, processing amendments and modifications, processing delivery orders, etc.
- Maintains required records of contracting activities/actions.
- Operates ADP equipment in the performance of duties.
- Consolidates data and communicates information, pertaining to timeliness of the procurement action process, purchase order delivery status and other procurement statistics.
- Prepares and tracks a variety of correspondence, contracting documents, etc. in accordance with prescribed procedures and under minimal supervision.
- Collects, summarizes and analyzes data required for contract actions.
- Trains subordinate associates on department policies and processes.
