    Description


    Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility.

    We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 100 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

    What you'll do:


    Lead the design of the High Voltage Battery production system, including line layout, manufacturing processes and automation, installation, and overall battery production ramp planning for a new manufacturing facilityApply expert level knowledge of High Voltage Batteries and manufacturing process to collaborate and influence our multidisciplinary Product Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Facilities teams in the development of a new High Voltage Battery for an eVTOL aircraftDrive the Design for Manufacturability efforts with the product design teamDetermine the requirements for automation, tools, stands, fixtures, etc.

    Develop the manufacturing Build Plan (line layout, manufacturing methods, part flow, tools, equipment, precedence network, etc.) and determine an appropriate MBOMConduct process failure mode and analysis (PFMEA) for the Battery production systemDevelop specification for tooling and automation equipmentAct as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for automated assembly processesOversee Final Acceptance Testing of manufacturing equipmentSupport supply chain development and procurementCreate/approve work instructions for Battery assembly and installationSupport first unit builds and testing of the production systemOwn upgrades and continuous improvement projectsWhat you need:7+ years work experience and B.S.

    in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalentDemonstrated hands-on assembly of complex Battery systems at high rates Demonstrated experience in statistical process control and GD&TExperience developing production lines from prototype to mass productionStrong organizational skillsExperience with CAD, PLM, MES, and ERP software

    Bonus Qualifications:
    Experience with high voltage systems: cars, aircraft, etc.

    We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company's business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $134,400 - $168,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
