    The Banner – University Medicine Diabetes and Endocrinology Institute specializes in managing complications and illnesses related to diabetes, metabolism, and obesity.

    • Join us as a Medical Assistant and play a crucial role in providing patients with exceptional customer service and care.
    • Room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, and update electronic medical records accurately and promptly.
    • Support office/administrative staff by answering phones, checking in patients, scheduling appointments, and more.

    Even if you're an Uncertified Medical Assistant, you'll have a chance to get nationally certified within 12 months of starting. Banner offers support for certification and opportunities for career advancement, including tuition assistance.

    This is a full-time position with a day shift from Monday to Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM. Clinic is closed on weekends and holidays.

    Job Summary: This role involves assisting clinicians and nursing staff in delivering medical care, as well as providing direct patient care and ensuring an excellent patient experience.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Prepare patients for exams and treatments by recording vital signs and symptoms.
    • Assist providers with exams and minor procedures.
    • Coordinate patient care, including referrals and scheduling.
    • Provide clerical support and maintain medical records.
    • Ensure a clean and functional environment.
    • Monitor and manage inventory.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Complete necessary onboarding/orientation activities.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma/GED.
    • Graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
    • Medical Assistant certification (or ability to obtain certification within 12 months).
    • BLS certification.
    • Strong computer skills and exceptional interpersonal communication.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with medical procedures, insurance, EMR, and scheduling software.
    • Additional related education and experience.
