    Description

    We are seeking a motivated and experienced Proposal Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing sales proposals and cost models for HVDC Service contracts, ensuring competitiveness in the market. You will collaborate with our global team and various departments to deliver comprehensive bid packages to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background with experience working on high voltage projects.

    Title: Proposal Specialist

    Location: Raleigh, NC (hybrid with 2-3 days a week in office)

    Duration: 6-month contract

    Travel: 15-20% travel as needed (potentially international)

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop sales proposals and cost models for Grid Technologies Service projects, focusing on HVDC Service contracts, to ensure proposal feasibility and market competitiveness.
    • Create, edit, and write original proposal responses and other sales-related documents.
    • Collaborate with the global team to compile comprehensive bid packages for customers.
    • Validate and endorse the technical components of the solutions proposed in bids.
    • Apply critical thinking to resolve high-impact, complex, and cross-functional problems effectively.
    • Work closely with the supply chain to coordinate and obtain quotes from sub-suppliers.
    • Collaborate with the new business unit to provide service solutions that meet customer needs.
    • Supervise the creation and dissemination of project-specific lessons learned and work to minimize project Non-Conformance Costs (NCCs).
    • Represent the organization in community and industry activities.

    Requirements:

    • Must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
    • Must have 5 years of experience in one of the following: construction, engineering, estimating, contracts management, and/or client relations in the Transmission Sector.
    • Knowledge of either FACTS (flexible A/C transmissions) or HVDC (high voltage direct current) in the Operation's and Maintenance market.
    • Record of building and delivery of large programs.
    • Experience leading tenders valuing at $5M or more, including ownership of tenders, client relations and all other scopes relative to large construction projects.
    • Ability to travel as needed.
