- Administers resident medications prescribed by physician. Ensures that an effective system is provided to review medication oversight and ensure completion of all documentation and forms related to medication.
- Assures that nursing department completes all required admission and release procedures and documents in a timely manner to include facility entry screening, health related history and physical assessment.
- Completes and submits statistical reporting as required.
- Carries out clerical and administrative assignments to support resident care and department operations.
- Ensures youth immunizations are done and documented as required.
- Prepares and presents training programs to staff in areas including, but not limited to, medication administration, side effects, nuisance disease (scabies, ringworm, etc.) hepatitis A and B, universal precautions, AIDS, seizures, and other health related issues impacting upon the delivery of services.
- Collaborate with leadership and performance improvement activities by conducting periodic reviews to ensure compliance with YOI policy and agency requirements.
- Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth.
- Participate in training and development activities as required and develop required budgets.
- Report any acts, incidents or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships.
- Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
- Three years' experience as a professional RN
- Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable. Must be able to move about the property. Must be able to participate in youth activities. Must be able to transport youth or staff. Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state and to the extent that data is attainable under the law. Must be able to pass PAR evaluation of physical techniques and written certification exam.
