The Project Manager

• Safety at Micron Technology, Inc.

, is responsible for the management of projects through the design process to completion for internal business projects involving department and/or cross-functional team members.

In addition, the Safety Project Manager will be the primary point of contact for special EHS events, projects, and data mining initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Safety & Quality:
+ Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies + Stops work for safety if unsafe conditions and/or behaviors are identified + Applies and reviews job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed + Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety + Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with collaborators + Actively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (maximum 24 hours) + Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches + Always wears appropriate PPE, per JHA, Supervisor, EHS professionals, and/or job designation + Proactively finds opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment + Uses proper lifting techniques and works in an ergonomically correct manner + Follows proper change management practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are met + Drives quality improvement initiatives in their area to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identify cost savings + Operates and maintains equipment and tools within manufacturer's and company guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met + Ensures area-specific procedures and documents exist and submits updates to content when needed + Protects and safeguards employees and company resources Communication & Collaboration: + Collaborates with areas leaders to create personal performance and development goals + Partners with key collaborators to monitor data to continuously improve critical metrics + Communicates proactively with leaders and team members on the daily priorities and issues + Attends and participates in meetings, critiques and provides input + Partners with area leaders and collaborators to gather input for area improvement + Proactively communicates issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost moves + Communicates with leadership across the site + Provides communication that is clear, concise and effective + Communicates changes made to projects and follows business rules for change control + Collaborates with legal, facilities design engineers, manufacturing collaborators, operations and maintenance teams to maintain a cohesive approach to compliance + Provides emergency support to Micron Operations in all Treasure Valley locations in the role as the on-call Safety Engineer + Partners with team members to resolve process issues and enhance system stability + Coordinates and integrates the specifications and expectations of various partners during a project's design process + Works closely with area managers and partners to better align site EHS activities + Provides internal communication support from the EHS organization for specific communication campaigns and efforts/messaging across the Boise site


Project Management/Planning:
+ Leads or supports area projects to ensure deliverables are completed within required scope and schedule + Leads project meetings and completes assigned actions + Partners with leader to prioritize project action items + Tracks actions and provides escalation path to ensure actions will be completed on time + Uses a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and handle projects + Identifies project requirements and establishes clear and achievable objectives + Forecasts project issues and offers solutions to area leaders + Coordinates and monitors project schedules + Monitors projects from design processes through completion + Ensures alignment of project at site level across multiple organizations + Provides support for the installation or commissioning of new facilities infrastructure + Follows organisational change procedures + Supports equipment startup and commissioning + Performs system inspections per applicable code requirements and signs off on inspection report + Coordinates, manages, and conducts safety walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to ensure operations align with Micron safety procedures and regulatory requirements Technical/

Data Analysis:
+ Analyzes systems data to make critical decisions, improve performance, gain efficiency, and drive cost savings + Provides effective and timely guidance to resolve issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution + Provides troubleshooting support for complex problems and addresses root cause + Performs problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies + Conducts risk and/or failure mode and effects analysis + Eliminates single points of failure and mitigates risk + Provides safety consultation and technical support to Operations, Maintenance, Manufacturing and other department/sites regarding safety issues and safety regulations + Develops and implements functional, cost effective solutions for safety issues + Partners with key collaborators to identify gaps and opportunities for equipment/process efficiencies + Works with Manufacturing on excursion root cause identification, elimination, and prevention + Supports corporate requests and assignments + Supports benchmark activities on operational, procedural, engineering, facilities systems + Maintains applicable subject area knowledge, such as incident investigation theory, risk assessment theory, safety principles, etc. + Drives a culture of TPM + Uses administrative databases in support of job tracking and data analysis + Collects, evaluates and communicates safety-related metrics and performance measurements + Ensures safety is considered in all aspects of design, enhancement, modification and process + Provides technical and regulatory input and recommendations for projects and process changes + Ensures safety programs and procedures are effective, efficient, and conform to the management system and regulatory requirements + Performs incident and event follow-up and investigation, determines direct and indirect causes, makes specific recommendations to prevent recurrence, and confirms effectiveness + Identifies, develops, and provides safety training in accordance with company and department goals and objectives + Monitors, analyzes and addresses issues for organizational productivity and efficiency + Attends training/seminars to update technical knowledge as available + Leads team efforts in identifying and resolving organizational efficiency issues and works towards resolution of identified discrepancies + Leads crisis management and disaster recovery effort programs Qualifications: + Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills + Proven track record to communicate complex analysis in a succinct and actionable manner To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
