    Electrical Engineer, PE Job Description

    Looking for an Electrical Engineer to design and implement electrical systems for our Power Equipment Center manufacturing operations in Conroe, TX. Texas PE license is a must. Proficiency in switchgear, MCC, and control panel schematics and connections is crucial for this role. Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical component issues, aiding in system development from concept to production, and collaborating with our electrical design team to create tailored electrical solutions for each Power Equipment Center project.

    PCI is actively seeking an Electrical PE to contribute to project planning and design support.

    • Evaluate electrical designs and oversee EIT staff on projects of various scales.
    • Check layouts and designs according to NEC standards.
    • Inspect and mark up both ongoing and new projects.
    • Assess project specifications, schematics, and BOM’s for any discrepancies.
    • Examine cable tray configurations and part numbers on schematics.
    • Coordinate cable trays, HVAC ducts, and equipment busducts with the structural team.
    • Validate design team-created electrical blocks for practicality.
    • Assess customer/vendor equipment schematics for switchgear, MCC, and Control Panel setups and connections.
    • Provide guidance and assistance to Project Managers, EIT's, Electrical Draftsmen, and Designers as needed.
    • Engage with the Project Management Team for project/contract paperwork and timelines.
    • Address equipment issues, determining necessary resolutions in collaboration with the QC department and Clients as needed.

    Minimum requirements include:

    • Electrical PE with a valid Texas license.
    • Additional state licenses are a plus.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Advanced knowledge of NEC, IEC, and other relevant electrical codes and regulations.
    • Experience in analyzing and designing power and control circuits, including MCC, switchgear, power transformers, distribution panels, and transfer switches.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Leadership skills to manage a team of ten, including EIT candidates and designers/drafters.
