    Materials Lead

    Placed in the forefront of our leading- and cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapy business enabling clients to cure genetic, rare, and otherwise untreatable diseases

    This position is responsible for supervising the cGMP material handler team in support of process development, clinical and commercial production.

    The incumbent is required to perform and document daily material handling support of operations in a cGMP environment. Ensure materials are received, stored, shipped and transacted in accordance with established procedures. The Materials Supervisor will assign work, schedule, develop, train and conduct performance reviews for assigned staff.

    • Responsible to lead day-to-day cGMP activities of staff. Assign, monitor and review progress and accuracy of work, directs efforts and provides technical guidance on more complex issues.
    • Lead operators supporting material handling activities
    • Perform performance reviews of material handlers
    • Serves as the subject matter expert on material handling providing guidance to other material handlers and driving daily operations. Adheres to Safety & Environmental guidelines/policies as well as cGMP and other applicable regulatory agencies.
    • Lead PPI(Practical Process Improvement) initiatives and continuous improvements.
    • Establish and maintain key performance indicators in alignment with department and product supply goals, maintain and report applicable area or organizational metrics.
    • Proficient at public speaking, teaching, facilitating to peers, manufacturing staff, and area management within their operational group
    • Must be proficient in the use of the inventory management system (SAP) and execute real time transactions such as material receipts, inventory reporting, inventory reconciliation/investigations, order shipping confirmations and cycle counting.
    • Must have access to the company's quality management system to initiate deviations, CAPAs and document revisions. Must work effectively with cross functional departments to complete investigations if necessary.
    • Promote a culture that strives toward continuous improvement in Environmental, Health and Safety.
    • Coordinate maintenance of equipment, guiding both preventive maintenance and coordinating all necessary repairs.
    • Maintains metrics for the daily reporting of productivity and department performance.

    Education:

    • H.S. Diploma/GED required. College Degree preferred.

    Experience:

    • 2-5 years Supervisory experience preferred
    • Experience in cGMP Warehouse preferred.
    • PIT experience preferred.
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
    • Regulatory/Client audit experience.
    • Knowledge of cold chain custody procedures and processes.
    • Valid driver's license required.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated ability to mentor and drive process improvement
    • Good autonomous problem-solving skills. Investigative skills
    • Provide performance feedback real time
    • This position will generally require the ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift in a 24- hour, 7 day per week operation to include evenings and holidays.
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

    • Ability to gown as needed.
    • Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; sit and to talk or hear.
    • The employee is required to walk and stoop, or kneel, crouch approximately 80% of the time.
    • The employee is required to ascend/ descend stairs approximately 20% of the time, lift a maximum of 50 lbs., and sit for a maximum of 4 hours.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus with tasks.
