Our client, a leading construction firm with over 3,000 employees, specializes in infrastructure and services projects throughout the United States and Canada. As they continue to expand, they are looking to hire a seasoned Preconstruction Manager based in their New York office to guide and optimize preconstruction processes.
The Preconstruction Manager will play a crucial role in steering the preconstruction phase of complex projects, ensuring competitive and strategic proposal development. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of construction economics and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and submission of detailed construction proposals, ensuring all proposals align with both company standards and client expectations.
Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and project managers to establish clear project scopes and objectives.
Conduct site evaluations and feasibility studies to assess potential project risks and opportunities.
Manage and mentor a team of preconstruction professionals, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and efficiency.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure resource availability and cost-effectiveness.
Regularly travel across the U.S. and Canada to oversee project progress and maintain alignment with strategic goals.
Qualifications:
At least 12 years of experience in construction management, with a significant focus on preconstruction phases.
Proven track record of leading preconstruction for large-scale infrastructure projects.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
Proficient in relevant software, including advanced project management and estimation tools.
Eligibility to work in the U.S. and Canada, with a willingness to travel frequently.
