Position Summary
SUNY Cortland is accepting applications for a lecturer in the Physical Education Department for the academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of our student teacher supervisors and early field work courses.
Major Responsibilities
Assignment of student teacher supervisors.
Supervision of student teacher supervisors and student teachers.
Work closely with the Field Placement Office to assist with student teacher placement requirements.
Teaching of our pre-student teaching seminar (EDU 454).
Teaching of our Early Field Work course (EDU 256).
Teaching of our introductory course to the Physical Education Major (PED 101).

Collaboration with department chair, advisement coordinator, and the Field Experience and School Partnerships office to brainstorm new ideas and seek solutions to issues that may arise.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships
Required Qualifications
NYS Physical Education Professional Teacher License.
Master's in Physical Education or related field.
Must have worked in K -12 schools.

Preferred Qualifications
Good communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of NYS teacher certification requirements.
