Senior Manager, Regulatory Intelligence - New York, United States - Global Relay

    Default job background
    Description
    Who we are:

For over 20 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world's most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations.

Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It's a place where you can genuinely make an impact - and be recognized for it.

We believe great businesses thrive on diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of all employees. To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers.

We encourage you to apply if your qualifications and experience are a good fit for any of our openings.

    Your role:

As Senior Manager, Regulatory Intelligence, you are a market-facing thought leader, leveraging your extensive background in regulation and compliance within highly regulated financial institutions. Your experience, ideally including roles within SaaS surveillance / compliance, will contribute to a distinct team of subject matter experts at Global Relay, enhancing our brand value both internally and externally.

Your primary challenge in this role will be optimizing productivity amidst a diverse and unstructured remit, requiring flexibility and autonomy. Reporting to the Global Head of Regulatory Intelligence (UK), the role will have regular formal and informal interactions. Supervisory guidance will be available to support your efforts, while allowing for autonomous work.

    Your job:
    Internal responsibilities:
    • Support and enhance brand awareness for the New York office across all relevant stakeholders
    • Provide marketing support by assisting with PR, messaging in collateral, and content for marketing events, that elevate Global Relay's brand recognition
    • Assist in business development efforts by participating in key customer meetings and briefings, and be ready to share your subject matter expertise
    • Offer support to product teams by advising on market practices, challenges, competitor offerings, and regulatory expectations
    • Contribute to Global Relay Intelligence & Practice (GRIP), our business daily regulatory content service, by writing articles, providing editorial input, and participating in interviews for multimedia content
    • Contribute to internal training materials, educating non-finance and business development teams on market dynamics and compliance processes
    • Stay abreast of regulatory changes by regularly consuming and filtering relevant news sources, and disseminating insights across the organization
    • Participate in Executive Briefings, collaborating on workshops and product pitches to customers and prospects
    • Work in close collaboration with product teams to ensure innovative solutions meet specific compliance requirements and mitigate risks effectively
    External responsibilities:
    • Host and lead industry roundtables, facilitating discussions on evolving compliance practices and attending social events to engage with compliance officers
    • Speak on panels and as a keynote speaker at industry events, representing Global Relay and staying informed about market trends and competitor positioning
    • Utilize your extensive network of regulatory and compliance practitioners to raise awareness of Global Relay's capabilities and stay updated on market practices
    • Engage with regulators globally, sensitively and diplomatically advocating for Global Relay's software solutions to alleviate compliance challenges
    About you:
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in regulatory or compliance roles within the financial services industry, with a demonstrated understanding of banking and investment fund laws and regulations
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, ideally with additional certifications or advanced degrees (such as a Law degree or CPA)
    • Experience in SAAS electronic message archiving, compliance, and supervision solutions in highly regulated industries is a significant advantage
    • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to successful completion
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts clearly and persuasively
    • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
    • Willingness to travel within the region as required for customer meetings, industry events, and other business engagements
    • Demonstrated success in business development and client management, particularly in driving sales cycles and managing key customer relationships is highly desirable
