- Craft and execute a strategic roadmap for advancing battery cell technology, pinpointing areas ripe for disruption and differentiation.
- Drive the exploration, design, and validation of pioneering battery cell technologies, with a focus on enhancing power, charging capabilities, and longevity.
- Collaborate with engineering, platform, and product teams to seamlessly integrate design enhancements into our offerings.
- Foster strategic partnerships with leading research institutions, universities, and industry players to harness external expertise and foster collaborative innovation.
- Provide mentorship and direction to a team of battery engineers, nurturing a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making and maintain our competitive edge.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field.
- 8+ years of experience in cell development and material science, with a proven track record of driving innovation.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience, preferably leading cross-functional teams.
- Profound understanding of battery chemistry, material science, and electrochemical processes, with expertise in lithium-ion, solid-state, or other advanced battery technologies preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and steer technology development projects from concept to commercialization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to convey complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, coupled with a passion for disruptive innovation and a penchant for challenging the status quo.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% (both domestically and internationally).
- Master's or PhD degree is preferred.
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of battery, drive, and motor systems.
- Strong strategic and analytical acumen, with the ability to identify market opportunities and devise innovative solutions to meet customer needs.
