    This is an exciting time to join Brella as we anticipate the opening of 2 more centers in the Los Angeles area over the 12-24 months in addition to our locations in Hollywood, Pasadena, and Playa Vista. We are currently looking to hire an LA-based People (HR) & Culture Manager to work onsite across our locations in LA with some remote flexibility.

    As a People (HR) & Culture Manager You Will

    • Drive initiatives and projects with broad impact to support Brella's needs across employee experience, Total Rewards and compliance, performance assessment and management, talent acquisition, succession planning, employee relations, and manager development
    • Recommend, develop, and implement new People (HR) processes, frameworks, tools and approaches to grow and scale the business
    • Support compliance across labor and workplace safety requirements in partnership with center ops.
    • Be a trusted advisor and coach managers to make effective decisions to ensure we hire, align and retain talent
    • Deliver the full range of People (HR) generalist services to managers and employees with direct responsibility for the knowledge, application and compliance with current labor laws, rules and regulations
    • Pull, analyze and leverage People data from systems and surveys providing insights to managers and leaders around gaps and identifying appropriate actions to drive change
    • Lead manager training across hiring, onboarding, performance management, compensation, DEI and other relevant People policies or frameworks.
    • Provide guidance and coordinate complex people issues across employee relations, investigations, leaves of absence including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA and Workers Comp, counseling and documentation as well as the termination process
    • Partner with leaders to establish short and long-term staffing strategies designed to support appropriate metrics (i.e. cost per hire, time to fill, etc.).
    • Lead performance management and talent discussions across the organization up to the Director level
    • Oversee and execute administrative processes/paperwork across the entire employee lifecycle
    • Coach managers to ensure fair and effective management of staff aligned with Brella's values, policies and employment laws
    • Effectively manage and communicate change across the business
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • 5-7+ years of progressive HR experience in a high-growth setting; strong preference for experience working in a startup environment
    • 3+ years operating in a HR Manager or equivalent role with leadership experience
    • Experience supporting employee populations of skilled non-exempt staff
    • Growth mindset, self reflective and continuous learner of the HR craft
    • Empathetic, employee focused approach - people over process
    • Ability to work with autonomy and discretion, making confident decisions through ambiguity
    • Understands effective communication styles to coach all level of employees, demonstrated ability to build partnerships with leaders
    • Ability to work independently, and coordinate multiple large projects through planning, prioritizing, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficient in the use of ATS, HRIS, Payroll and other HR systems
    • Ability to display sensitivity, tact and responsiveness in various situations and maintain a high level of confidentiality
    • Knowledge of US and CA labor laws, statutes, etc. which govern employment policies and practices
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action plans that balance business strategy with employee needs
