    Job Summary:
    The Director, Student Disability Services and University Testing, provides strategic vision and leadership for the department, oversees support services for students with disabilities, helps to ensure the campus remains in compliance with all applicable disability-related legal mandates, works collaboratively with other constituents on campus to ensure equitable access to students with disabilities, actively participates in various campus-wide diversity initiatives, and acts as a disability consultant to all departments and members of the three colleges that comprise Regis University. This position is 1.0 FTE.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
    Essential:

    Provide leadership, vision, support, and direct supervision to Student Disability Services & University Testing (SDSUT)professional staff (Accommodations Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, and Testing Coordinator. Oversee departmental budget and operations. Coordinates ongoing departmental assessment. Develop and distribute policy and procedural documents for SDSUT.

    Provide oversight and guidance regarding delivery of reasonable accommodation and support services for students with disabilities. Provide direct case management for complicated and conflictual compliance cases. Communicate with faculty and campus partners to help ensure student access and student success.

    Collaborate with the EO and Title IX Coordinator and Legal Counsel on student disability discrimination complaints. Inform and advise campus community regarding legal responsibilities under ADA/Sec 504/technological access mandates.

    Maintain professional knowledge of factors that affect the provision of accommodations to students with disabilities in a university setting, including state and federal laws and best practices.

    Oversee disability-related outreach to the campus community. Act as a disability consultant to other departments and colleges of the University.

    Promote and advocate for integration of accessibility within the University's diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence initiatives. Serve as a key university resource in advancing equity and inclusion efforts related to students with disabilities.

    Provide management and direction for University Testing which oversees accommodated and revenue-based exams.

    Shares responsibility with the Dean of Library and Director of the Center for Student Success, library department heads, and Director of the Learning Commons in providing vision and leadership in moving the library, Learning Commons, and SDSUT forward to best serve and support the success of our students.

    Collaborate on student success with other campus departments, as appropriate. Serve and represent SDSUT on campus committees as needed.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Education:

    Master's Degree in Psychology, Disability Studies, Social Work, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or related fields.

    Required Experience:

    Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a related environment.

    Minimum of five years of experience working in a clinical environment or a post-secondary disability services office. Higher education experience preferred.

    Demonstrated ability to create and maintain an atmosphere of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice that celebrates diverse backgrounds, academic performance, abilities, beliefs, and perspectives.

    Preferred Experience:

    Doctorate or additional graduate work in related field.

    Bilingual in Spanish and English

    Skills and abilities:

    Ability to effectively interpret various types of documentation in a timely manner.

    Ability to make determinations about reasonable accommodations.

    Maintain membership in local, regional, and national higher education disability services organizations and participate in continuing education opportunities to keep up to date with legal changes and disability trends

    Effective communicator in both group and individualized situations. Excellent communication skills including strong listening skills and conflict resolution abilities.

    Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data for various statistical reports and department surveys

    Ability to balance multiple projects and concerns while working under tight deadlines.

    Sensitivity in working with students of varied backgrounds and ages with disabilities while respecting them as capable individuals.

    Knowledge:

    Comprehensive knowledge of the laws, policies, and best practices applicable to the full range of disability and access services in higher education, such as ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Fair Housing Act, and Universal Design principles.

    Understand the differences in academic accommodations and their implementation between secondary education and higher education.

    Understanding of assistive technology and mandates regarding technological/electronic compliance.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires flexibility in schedule; including some evening and weekend hours.

    $64,000 to $68,000 / annually commensurate with qualifications.
