Description
POSITIONSUMMARY: With Director and Radiologists, manages andperforms technical procedures in the Department of Radiology. Coordinates the day-to-day activity of patient procedures forfluoroscopy, general diagnostic, operating room, portables and ERservices. Assists the PACS Administrator and IS Analyst withissues related to the operations within Diagnostic Radiology.Responsible for coordination, resources, establishment andoperation of administrative and technical aspects of the followingsections of Radiology: Diagnostic Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound,Vascular Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiology Support.Serves in consultant role to PMC Radiology and Orthopedic Clinicproviding technical guidance and quality assurance. Functions asthe Director in his/her absence.
RequirementsMINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of arecognized, approved American Medical Association Council ofEducation program in radiologic technology. Bachelor's Degree inBusiness Administration, Healthcare Management or related fieldfrom an accredited instutition. Master's Degree in BusinessAdministration or Healthcare Management Program(Preferred).
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:Certification by the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists (ARRT). NM State License in Radiologyrequired.
SKILLS: Excellentverbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medicaland technical personnel, ability to deal efficiently andcourteously with all hospital personnel. Must be able to workeffectively with diverse groups of people. Knowledge of PACS, RISand HIS. Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent,multidisciplinary projects. Proficiency in office automationsystems; familiarity with specific Radiology applications such asHRM, Affinity, Insight Excel and the Internet.
EXPERIENCE: Five yearsradiology experience and three years managerialexperience.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:

ENVIRONMENT:
Subject toelectrical and radiation hazards. Lifting and positions ofpatients. Walking and standing 90 percent of the time. Office environment 10 percent of time. Employee mayfrequently be exposed to electromagnetic radiation as in CRTs(VDTs).
PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS: Moderate amount of lifting andpositioning of patients and equipment. Walking and standing90 percent of the time; office environment 10 percent of thetime. Position requires ability to walk frequently; stand andsit for prolonged periods; see objects closely; and hear normalsounds with some background noises.
Positionrequires ability to concentrate on moderate detail with constantinterruption. Individual must be able to understand andrelate to specific ideas generally, several at a time, and remembermultiple tasks given to self and others over long periods oftime. Individual must also be able to communicate in writtenword, using adv advanced writing skills.
