ASAM criteria and risk assessment and working with SFRC clients under the structured framework of state and federal law, the counseling code of ethics, and SFRC evidence-based practices (EBP), and policies and procedures.
This is a full-time on-site role for a Substance Abuse/Mental Health Counselor. The Substance Abuse/Mental Health Counselor will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing individual and group therapy, and case management.They will also be working with families to provide therapy and support, in addition to collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients.

Conduct assessments on clients utilizing SFRC's biopsychosocial assessment (BPS) risk assessment and other evaluation tools to determine the ASAM criteria.
Provide individual and group therapy utilizing evidence-based and best practices in SUD treatment, psycho-education cognitive/behavioral methods, motivational interviewing, and holistic other therapeutic modalities.
Participates in initial and ongoing training on EBPs utilized for client service delivery. Strong foundation in Social Work, Psychology, and Mental Health# At least two years of experience working with clients with co-occurring mental health/substance abuse diagnoses, providing individual and group psychotherapy.
# Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance with BHSD Standards and requirements for the use of computerized client assessments, data systems, etc.
# Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural preferred. (English/Spanish)
