    Information Security Analyst

    Company: Fortune 150 Utilities Client - Hybrid in Uptown Charlotte

    Brooksource is looking for an associate-level Identity and Access Management Analyst for one of our top utility partners in Charlotte, NC. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with limited experience to have a real impact with the Identity & Access security team.

    The IAM Analyst maintains and troubleshoots Identity and Access Management technology. They are in charge of managing technical security solutions to ensure system and asset security, in line with policies, standards, and procedures. Also, they implement technical safeguards for critical infrastructure services.

    To reach this goal, the Information Security Analyst tests, deploys, reviews, and administers the necessary infrastructure hardware, software, and documentation for effective cybersecurity resource management.


    Daily Responsibilities:
    • Assist with identification and documentation of asset vulnerabilities
    • Gather threat and vulnerability information
    • Provide key management for data security
    • Establish and manage network operations baseline
    • Administer and operate cybersecurity tools

    Risk Assessment:
    • Implement protections against data leaks
    • Use integrity checking mechanisms
    • Implement tasks under the vulnerability management plan
    • Aid in establishing incident alert thresholds
    • Assist with vulnerability and incident mitigation

    Quality Improvement:
    • Test and evaluate cybersecurity applications
    • Identify conflicts in cybersecurity tool implementations
    • Coordinate protection of critical infrastructure

    Communication:
    • Share effectiveness of protection technologies

    Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with network and system engineers

    Skillset:
    • 1-2+ years of relevant experience
    • Knowledge of security threats and vulnerabilities
    • Knowledge of access control mechanisms
    • Understanding of intrusion detection and incident response
    • Understanding of information assurance principles
    • Basic knowledge of network protocols, VPN security, and more

    Technical Skills:
    • Microsoft Technology Associate or CompTIA Security+

    Job Types: Full-time, Contract

    Pay: $28.00 per hour
    Expected Hours: 40 per week
