    Description

    Are you an experienced buyer in the textile/bed/bath market? Are you energized by enhancing the stores collection while working in a fast paced environment? Our client is a leading retail company specializing in clothing, home decor, and additional brand names. For decades they have been growing and are now looking to add experienced talent to their team

    Responsibilities:

    Product Sourcing and Selection:

    • Identify and source a diverse range of textiles, linens, and bed/bath products to meet customer preferences and market trends.
    • Evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely deliveries.

    Market Analysis:

    • Conduct thorough market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences.
    • Utilize market insights to make informed decisions on product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.

    Inventory Management:

    • Collaborate with the inventory management team to optimize stock levels, ensuring a balance between demand and supply.
    • Monitor inventory turnover rates and take proactive measures to prevent overstock or stockouts.

    Cost Negotiation:

    • Negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, payment, and shipping terms, to maximize profitability while maintaining product quality standards.
    • Work closely with suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement.

    Quality Control:

    • Establish and enforce quality standards for textiles, linens, and bed/bath products.
    • Conduct regular product inspections and collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues promptly.

    Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:

    • Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective product promotion and marketing strategies.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer feedback and adjust product offerings accordingly.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Buyer with a background in textiles, linens, or bed/bath products.
    • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective vendor relationships.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
