    Job Description

    We are excited to announce that the City of Chesapeake is looking for a skilled Systems Analyst I to join our team and provide analysis, development, and system support for the Chesapeake Police & Fire Department.     Key Responsibilities:
    • Analyze user requests for new or improved computer information systems.
    • Research current technologies in computer systems to recommend solutions to user problems or needs.
    • Monitor trends and new developments in computer information systems technology and assist in the development of plans, policy, and procedures for computer information system operations.
    • Design, develop, debug, and install new computer information system applications.
    • Modify existing software to improve operations and enhance information system efficiency.
    • Assist users with information requirements and design report formats to meet user needs.
    • Provide system and network administration and security control; manage user access, passwords, and system maintenance.
    • Perform administrative functions such as maintaining inventories, assisting with budgets, ordering supplies, and preparing specifications for new systems.
    • Participate in training meetings, seminars, or conferences to enhance technical skills; collaborate on committees engaged in computer information systems activities.
    • Support the Wireless Communications Manager as needed in the administration of the city's radio networks.
    Required Qualifications:VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
    Seeking candidates with a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    Minimum two years of full-time equivalent experience in addition to educational qualifications.

    SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
    Must hold a valid driver's license and meet driving record expectations.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
    Flexibility to work beyond regular hours in response to department needs and emergencies. Work may extend beyond normal duties and locations.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Knowledge of Project Management, Life-Cycle Management, IoT Solutions, Computer-Aided Dispatching Systems, Advanced Authentication Solutions, and other related areas. Experience with SharePoint 2010, Microsoft Intune monitoring, WEBEOC, Pulsepoint, Kronos Telestaff, Wireless Technologies, Mobile Data Terminals, and troubleshooting LMR Radio Templates. Ability to collaborate with integrators for maintaining system readiness and involvement in city projects related to Wireless Communication and technology advancements.
