Description
A Management Analyst IV performs management and operational analysis work involving the Department's various response and support operations and determines, monitors, and improves its efficiency and effectiveness.
There one vacancy with the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD), Planning and Development Division, located in Honolulu.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Collecting and analyzing trends for planning and implementing short- and long-term goals for the Department;
Creating, collecting and maintaining relevant data and information banks based on the HFD's strategic plan and goals for sound decision making;
Assisting in ensuring quality control in the HFD's personnel, equipment, facilities, and processes through ongoing data analyses that integrates emergency response, fire prevention, public information, and training.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
:
Substantially equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with major work in political science, public or business administration, economics or a related field.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States.
In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided.We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

Substitution :

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
:
Two years of management analysis experience.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of:
principles, methods and techniques of management analysis; research and statistical methods; and report writing.
Such experience must also have demonstrated the ability to:
apply the concepts, principles, techniques and methodology of management to actual work situations; evaluate administrative problems and develop necessary solutions or improvements; read, understand and analyze written material; and prepare clear, complete and accurate reports.
