- Work with appropriate critical partners and stakeholder teams to include timely, project reviews and reports on them to the NIA's ITAC (Information Technology Advisory Committee).
- Collaborate with all functional business units within NIA ITB to achieve strategic, tactical and project goals.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, project managers, developers, business analysts, and support staff, to gather information, clarify technical concepts, conduct quality assurance, and produce end-user documentation. Develop, maintain, and continually improve written policies and procedures across the Information Technology Branch.
- Participate in meetings, demos, and working sessions to understand product features, functionalities, and requirements needed to develop technical documentation.
- Develop, edit, review, and maintain a variety of briefings, policies, standard operating procedures, user manuals, newsletters, SharePoint pages, guidelines, and puts in place the logical arrangement of content; ensuring content is accurate, clear, and consistent with other published documents.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear and easy-to-understand language suitable for intended audience.
- Incorporate user feedback and best practices to enhance the user experience of documentation.
- Evaluate and provides assessments of technical documents.
- Review documentation for grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, redundancy, composition, style, etc. and makes the necessary updates. This includes structuring documents logically and intuitively, making information easy to find and understand.
- Compile data from diverse sources, extracts critical information, and conducts analyses to develop written reports and presentations.
- Develop style guides, templates, and standards for technical documentation.
- Plan, organize, and track all technical writing related work, including defining scope, setting timelines, and prioritizing.
- Maintain documentation repositories and version control systems to manage documentation effectively.
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role.
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, MadCap Flare, or similar.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in the technology or software industry.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC)) are a plus.
- Proven experience as an Application Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise application management, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in application performance monitoring and optimization.
- Experience with application security principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.

The Application Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of enterprise applications. This role ensures that applications operate efficiently and effectively, meeting the needs of the organization. Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management: Build, configure, and test physical and virtual machines for deployment.
Deliverables: Documentation of machine configurations, deployment status, and testing outcomes.
Cloud Computing Management: Build, monitor, and test cloud computing components, including Disaster Recovery as a Service (DraaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS). Deliverables: Documentation of cloud component configurations, monitoring reports, and testing results.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues related to commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) server software, network components, and cloud products. Deliverables: Records of resolved issues, including troubleshooting steps and solutions.
Server IT Refreshment Program Support: Provide support for the server IT refreshment program, including image building, updates, and deployment. Deliverables: Documentation of image build and deployment processes, updated images, and records of successful deployments.
Server and Network Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve server and network related issues promptly. Deliverables: Records of troubleshooting activities and resolutions, including any necessary documentation.
Server Backups: Perform server backups according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules as per ITB Backup Procedures, Continuity of Operations (COOP), Contingency, and Disaster Recovery Plans. Deliverables: Records of backup schedules, backup reports, and adherence to backup procedures.
SharePoint Administrator: Administer SharePoint services and maintain patch levels and recommended updates for the SharePoint farm. Deliverables: Documentation of SharePoint patching and update activities, ensuring farm security and stability.
Password Management: Manage and reset all SharePoint-related passwords across various application pools and services within NIA's SharePoint farms. Deliverables: Records of password management activities, including password resets and security measures.
3rd Party SharePoint Tools: Install and maintain all third-party SharePoint tools and components on NIA's SharePoint farm. Deliverables: Documentation of third-party tool installations, configurations, and maintenance activities.
Scripting and Monitoring: Be proficient in scripting solutions such as Microsoft PowerShell to automate tasks and actively monitor SharePoint farms for availability through application pools, services, and server status.
