    Analytics Engineer - Denver, United States - Ibotta

    Description

    Ibotta is seeking an Analytics Engineer, Product Analytics to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. You will leverage rich transactional and behavioral data from our portfolio of digital platforms (app, web, browser extension, and publisher network) to improve user experiences. As an Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for using the latest developments in data ETL, supporting strategy development, building state-of-the-art tools, and improving our future product developments. Data is considered a strategic asset here at Ibotta. In this role, you'll be able to have a direct impact by making data available and reliable for analytics teams to provide advanced analytics, models, and analyses to their business stakeholders.

    This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

    What you will be doing:

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Decision Scientists to aggregate and normalize datasets for analysis
    • Partner and collaborate with other data related teams, including engineering, data engineering, analytics engineering and decision science to represent data needs and best practices through the data development, validation, and management process
    • Proactively incorporate the knowledge of how Decision Science solutions meet end customer needs into data preparation, design and decisions
    • Identify, validate, document and test events-based data for business utility in the data lake to help answer strategic questions
    • Understand business logic to help document, test, and maintain datasets
    • Develop data sets with data quality principles in mind, creating standards and change management principles for events used in analytics workflows to ensure reliability
    • Implement and utilize engineering best practices and methods to deploy and maintain quality, curated data sets using Airflow
    • Build UI and automation tools to enable data democratization throughout the company
    • Build automated alerting and anomaly detection into data flows
    • Own multiple large projects end-to-end with input from other Analytics Engineers and Decision Scientists
    • Manage new data requirements and develop solutions that minimize technical debt

    What we are looking for:

    • 3+ years of practical work experience in a data engineering role supporting an analytics team or equivalent experience as an analytics engineer or BI developer
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics or a related field required
    • Proficiency with some or all of:
      • End-to-end data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes and tools (AWS Glue, DBT, etc.)
      • AWS EcoSystem and cloud-based data warehouse and architecture
      • Airflow, DataBricks, Git, Monte Carlo
      • Multiple languages and frameworks (Python, Scala, strong SQL, Spark) highly preferred
      • Development in a modern BI/data visualization platform (Looker, Tableau, etc.)
      • Event-driven architectures and platforms a strong plus
    • Experience identifying and troubleshooting data anomalies and pipeline issues
    • Track record managing and updating cluster configurations to ensure workflow operation
    • Demonstrated ownership of data throughout its lifecycle and collaboration with SMEs to understand the business context of the data

    Additional Details:

    • This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks and occasional meals.
    • Base compensation range: $100,000 - $135,000. Equity is included in overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
