    Position Summary:

    The Pingry School invites applications for the Grade 4 Reading Teacher position. This role is ideal for an educator who is deeply invested in nurturing a lifelong passion for learning and literature. The Grade 4 Reading Teacher will be instrumental in developing students' reading and communication abilities within an enriched and dynamic learning environment. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering a classroom emphasizing curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, in line with our Lower School educational philosophy.     Responsibilities

    • Serve as a Grade 4 Homeroom Teacher
    • Fulfilling any additional duties as assigned by the Lower School Director including but not limited to carline, lunch, and recess duty.
    • Participate in all required meetings.
    • Participating in all required professional development activities.
    • Providing extra support for students during Conference Period.
    • Deliver engaging, thought-provoking, and comprehensive lessons that align with our Lower School curriculum goals.
    • Incorporate various teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles, including experiential learning, digital literacy, and project-based activities.
    • Foster a nurturing environment that encourages students to express themselves creatively and effectively.
    • Collaborate with other Lower School teachers to integrate interdisciplinary lessons that enhance literacy with other core subjects and the arts.
    • Assess student progress with clear, constructive feedback, guiding them towards academic and personal growth.
    • Participate in curriculum development sessions to ensure the Language Arts program remains innovative and effective.
    • Engage with parents and guardians regularly to discuss their child's learning progress and strategies for support outside the classroom. Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
      • At least 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in elementary age groups.
      • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate young learners, fostering an environment that uplifts students' ability to read and write.
      • Dedication to supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students.
      • Enthusiasm for 21st-century pedagogy and cutting-edge practices.
      • Rich knowledge of disciplinary content and the developmental needs of children.
      • Experience and expertise in creating a culture of equity and belonging.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, colleagues, and the school community.
      • Comfortable with incorporating the latest technology into your workflow, including Google Classroom, Seesaw, and Zoom.
      • Skilled in navigating the Google Suite of applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.)
      • Dedicated to partnering collaboratively with a team of talented faculty to implement an inspirational academic program.
      • Knowledge and expertise in cultivating a culture of equity through teaching and curriculum.
