The Chapin School, an independent K-12 day school for girls located in New York City, seeks a student-centered, collaborative, and innovative educator to serve as Upper School English Teacher and Advisor

  • Integrates the teaching of reading comprehension, critical thinking and analytical writing

Qualifications:

Required

  • Degree. B.A. in English, literature, and/or comparative literature
  • Experience: three years teaching experience in English, literature, and/or comparative literature
  • Experience teaching adolescents
Preferred- Masters Degree in an academic discipline or a discipline related to teaching, learning, writing, and/or educational psychology- Strong interest (or experience) in some form of creative writing or journalism

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience. The salary range is $69,000-$130,000 annually.
