The Program Instructor provides engaging instruction in support of high-quality participant services through community based or on-site activities
Opportunities available in the North and South Bay, such as: San Jose, Redwood City, Burlingame
Full time opportunities at 30 and 40 hours a week

ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to participants to help them achieve their goals; instruction may be community based, onsite or provided virtually.
- Utilize appropriate modification techniques to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagement
- Complete documentation for tracking participant goals and comment on progress and achievement
- Supervise and assist participants during volunteer activities, paid work, classes, and other community activities
- Responsible for travel training participants using public transportation and the safety and wellbeing of participants while out on community outings
- Participate in agency functions and attend staff meetings and other trainings as scheduled
- Maintain professional relationships and provide excellent customer service with external parties, families, care givers, and participants
- Assist participants in personal hygiene as needed
- Drive agency vehicles as needed
- Transport participants to activities and events; provide route service as needed
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Education Degree in applicable field
- Applicable work or volunteer experience
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of a Valid California Driver's License/ID
- 3 years of a Clean Driving Record (if applicable)
- Proof of negative TB test results
- Verification of physical clearance
- Passing a criminal fingerprint clearance
- 21 years of age for driving positions

- Ability to physically respond to adults with developmental disabilities
- Ability to lift/support at least 40 lbs as needed
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequently
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time and support adults with developmental disabilities on community outings
- Ability to drive company vehicles to transport participants
- Ability to sit and keyboard as needed
