- Registered RN in Massachusetts
- Experience in oncology care
- Strong communication skills with patients and care team
- Organized and proficient in EHR review, excel, word, Teams and the ability to learn additional electronic platforms.
- Ability to train on site with an eventual transition to remote work.
- Ability to learn the workflows of multiple disease specialties and willingness to cover any that are trained.
- Ideally can commit to two days a week.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The MGH Cancer Center is seeking per diem support in our new patient access team. The access nurse is integral in beginning the patient experience in world class Cancer Center. The access nurse triages all new patient requests for care and second opinions.
This nurse is the first point of contact with a clinical member of the team, therefore must be knowledgeable in oncology and cancer care.
The access nurse determines what is needed for the team to make the first visit valuable for the patient and the providers.
Teh access nurse helps obtain needed records, imaging and pathology as appropriate. They will collaborate with the new patient scheduling team find the first available appointment with the correct expert provider(s).This per diem position will be required to learn several disease groups in order to competently provide coverage where needed.
