Duties:


THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work;
  • Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees;
  • Develops and executes staff training and evaluates work performance of subordinates and gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters;
  • Hears and resolves complaints from employees, group grievances and serious complaints. Initiates minor disciplinary actions;
  • Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed and assures reasonable equity of performance standards and rating techniques;
  • Provides direction of a major program segment with significant resources and serves as the rating official on evaluations;
  • Finds and implements ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production;
  • Determines whether contractor performed work meets standards of adequacy necessary for authorization of payment;
  • Monitors expiration dates, rotating stock to limit outdates and removing items from use as required by outdates;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS 07
Possess one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level ( GS-6) in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this Supervisory Supply Technician position


Specialized experience includes:

planning and coordinating work to be accomplished by other staff; establishing priorities for a department; overseeing the receipt and distribution of supplies and materials for a complex medical center; maintaining stock at inventory locations; monitors expiration dates; ensure supplies are delivered timely; training new employees and answering questions on local processes and procedures; ensuring proper storage of supplies and materials; resolving problems and providing guidance to others on logistics activities; and making recommendations on improvement of wok production and quality of work.

IMPORTANT:

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:The work requires standing and walking during the entire workday, and frequent reaching, bending, and lifting of supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds).
