RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and analyze job cost reports, tracking actual costs against budgets to identify variances and potential areas for cost improvement.

Manage all accounting aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, invoicing, payables, receivables, and payroll allocations.

Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and to provide financial insights that support decision-making.

Oversee the processing of construction draws and payments, ensuring compliance with contract terms.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions related to construction projects.

Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures specific to the construction industry.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to construction accounting and taxation.

Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to construction accounts.

Collaborate with the finance department to improve financial processes and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is highly desirable.

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the construction industry or a related field.

Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job cost accounting, percentage of completion accounting, and revenue recognition.

Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel. Experience with construction management software is a plus.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of construction contracts, lien laws, and other legal aspects related to construction finance.
