    Job DescriptionDescriptionThe assistant construction project manager will assist in planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to the construction and maintenance of solar projects in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations.
    What You'll Do:Job Responsibilities
    1. Work Project Management team to organize, plan, direct, coordinate and report onsite construction activities to the project manager.
    2. Assists in leading the construction effort from estimating, management and scheduling.
    3. Assists project managers with all sub-contractor communications and purchase order needs.
    4. Helps maintain quality relationships with Utility Companies and provides timely communication regarding schedule, inspections, energization and interconnections.
    5. Willingness to read, interpret and understand all project documentation such as insurance, permitting and project scheduling
    6. Develop preliminary schedule and facilitating scheduling standards throughout the course of the project
    7. Develop and implement the work breakdown structure
    8. Assist in the development of baseline, proposal/bid schedules
    9. Support supervision through the preparation, monitoring, and updating of schedules; and assisting site management to formulate action plans to correct scheduling problems
    10. Draft and input schedule activities utilizing PM, monitoring, and eliminating potential problems
    11. Review any scheduling issues with site staff and determine necessary modifications, re-sequencing schedules when conflicts arise and updating the PM as required by project specifications and contract requirements
    12. Create reports for project team within Procore, including the inclusion of data into the corporate reporting procedures
    13. Build relationships with internal and external project team members, communicating both successes and concerns regarding schedule
    14. Assess impact of design/construction changes and communicate the issues with project stakeholders, executives and leadership team
    15. Analyze acceleration options and recommend the best cost, lowest risk option
    16. Acts as a trouble shooter on current projects
    17. Assist managers in cost savings through vendor negotiations, market analysis, and eliminating waste.
    18. Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving

    Supervisory Responsibility
    This position assists managers with all subcontractors and direct employees of the department.

    Work Environment
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and will be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. This position is occasionally performed in outside weather conditions.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision. Must be able to drive a vehicle.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
    This is a full-time position and will require longer hours and frequent weekend work.

    Travel
    Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
    What You'll Need:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field
    • One year minimum of experience in related field
    • Proficiency with reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
    • Proficiency with Procore or other construction management software

    Bonus Points:
    • Experience working on solar construction
    • Experience with MS Projects
