Description
Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Chiara Respite Home Manager is responsible for managing all operations of the Chiara Respite Home.Such responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling guests, providing direct support and personal care to guests, and documenting and billing for services provided.
This is a live-in position that offers a stipend. This live-in position does not have an end date of services being provided.RequirementsEssential FunctionsLive-in position, providing supports as needed for guests. Guests may vary from 1-4 people at a time depending on the needs.
Schedules guests for respite services and ensures adequate staffing and support is available for each guest.
Provides supervision and support to other volunteers and staff as assigned.
Interviews and screens potential guests.
Provides a positive respite environment for guests that allows for learning and enjoyment of activities.
Provides meaningful activities to guests during respite. Initiates activities and encourages guests to participate in the activities.
Encourages guests to be as independent as possible in their daily routine and takes advantage of every opportunity to teach.
Implements goals and objectives as identified in the PCISP and implements Behavior Support Plans.Actively listens to guests and encourages them to express their personal preferences. Identifies the personal interests of guests.
Assists with positioning, transferring and personal care of guests.
Provides for the dignity of guests by assuring personal cleanliness including monitoring the condition of personal possessions, clothing and adaptive equipment.
Properly administers medications and promotes a healthy environment.Effectively communicates progress and issues regarding guests to families and other team members as needed.
Completes electronic documentation, data sheets and any other required documents for each guest.
Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the home.
Works with others to ensure the maintenance needs of the home are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
Ensures petty cash, household receipts, and client funds are appropriately accounted for and maintains all associated documentation.
Coordinates purchasing of supplies and groceries for the home and manages credit card use.
Adheres to agency policy and procedure in the performance of duties.
Adheres to regulatory and accreditation guidelines in the delivery of services.
Completes agency reporting in accordance with agency protocol.
Maintains acceptable work standards in all areas including attendance and punctuality.
General ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the health and safety of guests.
Expected to serve as a role model for guests.
Expected to serve as an advocate and to protect the human rights of guests.
Expected to participate in training as required by your supervisor or for all LOGAN staff.
QUALIFICATIONSEducationHigh school diploma required.
Some college education preferred.
ExperienceTwo years of general supervisory experience preferred.
Two years of experience in direct programming for individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Job Knowledge, Abilities, LicensureCPR, First Aid and Medication Administration Certification required (or the ability to obtain certification).Must possess a valid driver's license.
No evidence of criminal activity involving a dependent population or any violent criminal activity.Possesses the physical ability to lift individuals using one man lift procedures.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good organizational and time management skills, as well as good problem-solving skills.
Works well with others, demonstrates initiative and flexibility.
A strong sense of confidentiality, knowledge of community services, and good judgment are essential.
Ability to make decisions under pressure and adapt to stressful situations quickly and effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of individuals.
