    Description

    A professional services firm in Midtown NYC is currently seeking an experienced Accountant for a promising Senior-level opportunity with their growing team.

    Responsibilities:

    The Senior Accountant will:

    • Oversee the full-cycle general ledger financial close process and related activities
    • Manage monthly close activity including journal entries and account reconciliations
    • Analysis of general ledger activity and journal entries
    • Perform balance sheet analysis; including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivables and accrued expenses
    • Prepare monthly financial statements
    • Calculate broker/dealer clients' regulatory net capital
    • Assist with preparation of regulatory filings for broker/dealers
    • Assist with preparation of annual financial statements
    • Support clients with annual audit and regulatory exams
    Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of Accounting experience
    • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Accounting
    • Willingness and ability to obtain Series 27 FinOp license and registration with FINRA within 1 year of hire.
    • Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel
    • Solid knowledge of US GAAP
    Desired Skills:
    • CPA license
    • FINRA Series 27 FinOp license
    • Accounting background in the Financial Services industry
    • Self-starter with reliable follow-through
    • Good communication skills
