    Join Our Team as a Finance Department Assistant at Episcopal Migration Ministries!

    Area Function

    The job involves managing the finances for Episcopal Migration Ministries' refugee resettlement program funded by the government.

    Reporting Relationships

    Directly reports to the Grants and Compliance Manager.

    Duties & Essential Job Functions

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Administer funds to EMM affiliates following grants guidelines accurately and promptly.
    • Monitor affiliates' budgets and expenses closely and act as a liaison between EMM and affiliates.
    • Review affiliates' audit reports to ensure compliance with government grants.
    • Aid in preparing Government Quarterly Reports.
    • Maintain the General Ledger for government grants and EMM Custodial Accounts.
    • Manage affiliates' voucher reports.
    • Track EMM Headquarters' budget against federal grants and other accounts.
    • Perform other necessary duties.

    Other Functions and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with Grant Manager and EMM Operations Director on annual budget creation.
    • Support Grant Manager in DFMS & EMM audits.
    • Perform any additional required duties.
    Qualifications Required
    • Bachelor's degree with at least two years of accounting and Government grants experience, or an Associate's Degree with five years of experience.
    • Prior experience with federal grant awards, especially in refugee resettlement, is advantageous.
    • Capability to handle multiple tasks, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Financial Edge, Excel, and word-processing applications.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
    Physical Requirements/Work Environment

    This position primarily involves typical office work with no special physical demands.

    Work Environment

    This role is mainly office-based in New York City but involves moderate travel across the country to affiliate offices, parishes, and Church institutions.
