    This position is for a senior business development professional for our Military Service and Support team that supports our Avionics Military Services organization.

    This position will lead the efforts focused on our United States Navy (USN) customer, specifically Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) and their associated organizations supporting the Naval Aviation Enterprise, both Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing aircraft programs for the USN and the United States Marine Corps.

    The selected individual will shape our strategies, to include competitive positioning through data analytics, white space/untapped opportunity analysis, and overall portfolio growth.

    This business development USN lead will partner with other members of the Military Service and Support business development team and engage with a broad set of stakeholders internally and externally to shape growth strategies for Collins Aerospace.

    This lead will need to have strong soft skills to promote cross-business unit strategy/collaboration and ultimately deliver results.

    Primary Responsibilities :

    • Acts as primary contact with the USN customer for the Avionics Military Services business. Develops a professional relationship with the purpose of understanding and solving the customers problems and requirements. Establishes and manages longstanding and strategic customer partnership. Influence leadership in the development of activities that supports the business strategies.
    • Drives implementation of initiatives, financial growth opportunities, and business development efforts that aligns with the Avionics Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and Avionics Military Services business objectives. Looks for opportunities for cross-SBU revenue synergistic pursuits and incremental growth strategies. Monitors and evaluates the external environment for financial growth opportunities.
    • Forecasts, prospects, develops, and grows the business. Leads in the selling of products, logistic services, and sustainment capabilities to achieve sales targets.
    • Collaborates with marketing resources and the sales leadership team to define overall sales strategies and to develop products and solutions responsive to the customer's business.
    • Supports the development of product strategies with SBUs and customers and drive them internally and with our customers.
    • Partners with SBU Business Development & Proposal Management capture teams to lead cross-functional teams from engineering, manufacturing, marketing, program management, sales team, and other organizations in developing business cases for prospective opportunities resulting in offering competitive proposals. Supports price-to-win, negotiation value, addresses customer resistance, and assists in closing large/complex sales.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the aerospace industry and our customer base to achieve shared goals and improved customer relationships.

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
    • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
    • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
    • Prior DoD Experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional and well-spoken presentation skills
    • Strong maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) knowledge and background
    • Experience in Naval Aviation acquisition, financial management, operations, maintenance, and sustainment
    • Understanding of the DoD budget and acquisition processes
    • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills are required along with the ability to establish effective communication and working relationships with all levels and functions of customer organizations, as well as within Collins Aerospace
