    Description

    One of our Bioprocessing & Chemical Manufacturing clients is currently seeking a Process Engineer to join their growing team in Philadelphia, PA. This individual will lead in the preparation and revision of product recipes and production guidelines. This role will be hands on bringing learnings from the plant floor to optimize and update current plant production procedures as well as will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of differentiated technology as well as products, processes, and systems. Other responsibilities include:

    • Utilize hands on experience at floor level to notate and improve production processes for complex recipes for a variety of product groups and processes.
    • Apply engineering skills and experience to improve safety, quality, and procedural adherence to current SOP as well as developing more robust processes.
    • Support efforts to identify areas within the operations function where safety, quality, delivery, and cost may be improved.
    • Develop engineering criteria to plan projects and drive smaller projects from approval and execution to recognize objectives.
    • Work with others from plant floor to plant leadership to communicate ergonomic, safety, and process control considerations on all current plant processes.
    • Support technical efforts to develop and integrate manufacturing processes for new and significantly revised products.
    • Drive and support the implementation and tracking of all experimental product trials and assists production in the process of defining the scope as well as reporting the purpose, process, and payoff.
    • Troubleshoots process problems based on an understanding of plant processes and process chemistry.
    • Tracks production history for specified products and reports monthly/yearly volumes and trends to plant management.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or related Engineering discipline
    • 2-5 years of Process Engineer experience within a chemical, food, polymerization, or related manufacturing environment/ plant support environment
    • Technical writing experience for SOPs and Work Instructions
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies

    Pay: $ $50.00/hr (flexible based on experience)

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm

    Hiring Method: 6 month long contract to potential permanent full-time hire

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
