Job Summary:

A Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that a spa operates within the bounds of Hand and Stone's operations policies, relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and maintain the highest ethical and legal standards. The Compliance Specialist also assists in educating and training spa employees on compliance matters. The Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and industry best practices. This position requires a commitment to integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing regulatory landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Franchise Compliance:
   • Stay current with Hand and Stone's operations policies as they pertain to spa risk management compliance.
   • Address compliance issues as they arise from quarterly audits.
2. Risk Assessment:
   • Analyze the potential impact of compliance issues and advise on necessary corrective actions.
3. Policy Development:
   • Ensure policies are clear, concise, and accessible to spa owners and management.
4. Training and Education:
   • Provide compliance training to spa management to ensure they understand their responsibilities and the potential consequences of non-compliance.
   • Develop training materials and communication strategies to promote awareness of compliance issues.
5. Auditing and Monitoring:
   • Conduct quarterly audits and assessments to monitor compliance with established policies and procedures.
   • Report findings to management and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
   • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and violations, as well as actions taken to address non-compliance.
7. Investigations:
   • Collaborate with other departments to gather information and evidence during investigations.
8. Continuous Improvement:
   • Participate in the development of compliance strategies that promote best practices and efficiency.
   • Make recommendations for improving compliance-related processes and systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
