Description
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II.JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIESEvaluates system specifications, deploys enterprise computer systems, configures enterprise system services, establishes standards, ensures hardware/software compatibility and maintains server systems focusing on the Operating System and the network.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
Performs the daily operational support on the computer Operating System to include system security, access, configuration, backups and restores
Specifies network requirements, monitors local area network (LAN) performance, troubleshoots networking hardware and insures system is working properly according to specifications and parameters.
Organizes and secures directory structure and assists/trains staff members in the use of department Document Management (DM) Systems, associated databases and Configuration Management (CM)/ DM release proceduresSpecifies hardware requirements and provides Computer Authorization and custodial receipt listings to track equipment configurations and identification logs
Serves as point of contact (POC) for problem reporting, incremental version updates and monitors yearly support contracts
Makes recommendations for future hardware/software implementations and related process improvements, schedules, plans and performs system upgrades including the transition from design, test, production and documentation environments
Provides operational status as required
Uses established policies, procedures, and subject matter knowledge to complete complex assignments requiring originality and ingenuity performed under minimum supervision with considerable latitude for independent contribution
Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems
Manage and administer storage solutions including Network-Attached Storage and Storage Area Network (NAS/SAN) systems
Other duties as required
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION
The job duties of a System Administrator IV include but are not limited to; deploying end user client hardware, configuring information system services, design and deploy of advanced services and features, meeting with senior officials, review of system engineering designs, configuring server/network equipment and addressing any end user concerns.
The System Administrator IV will be responsible for all hardware and software operation of the enterprise information system computing environment.
Hardware responsibilities include:
Integration of new hardware
Patching and compliance configuration of existing hardware
Troubleshooting/repair of individual components
Software responsibilities include:
Design and deployment of new features/services
Troubleshooting and reconfiguration of existing services
Patching and compliance updates
Performance tuning to heighten end user experiences
The System Administrator IV is also a sub team lead, responsible for the mentoring of junior system administrators. This includes on the spot training events, project lead roles/responsibilities, and individual mentoring events.
The candidate will be knowledgeable in a variety of operating systems such as: Windows 11, Microsoft Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Photon OS.
The candidate will also need a thorough understanding of Enterprise Information System Topologies and concepts, such as:automation, virtualization, network configuration, network services, authentication system management, system design concepts, event monitoring and analysis, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and incident response.
The candidate will work other tasks as assigned, including being cross utilized in other sections of the department and will be required to learn to operate and maintain said systems.
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to Top Secret with Special Access.
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification within 6 months of date hired .
The candidate must be able to work independently, as a member of a team, and as a small team leader.
To complete each of these tasks, the candidate must have strong verbal and written communications skills.REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in associated discipline from an accredited academic institution or equivalent experience through technical training, completion of a recognized certification program, or experience.
Requires at least 9 years of experience in computer system related areas of expertise and must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.
In addition, a Systems Administrator IV must possess the following qualifications:Must have specific experience in the maintenance of Operating Systems and support applications, in a centralized and distributed server environment
Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license .
SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $81,286 to $113,963 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards.
There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
