    Description
    JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S
    Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II
    JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges


    JOB SUMMARY

    • ESSENITAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Evaluates system specifications, installs enterprise computer systems, configures systems, establishes standards, insures hardware/software compatibility and maintains workstations and server systems focusing on the Operating system and the network
    Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:


    • Performs the daily operational support on the computer Operating System to include system security, access, configuration, backups and restores
    • Specifies network requirements, monitors local area network (LAN) performance, troubleshoots networking hardware and insures system is working properly according to specifications and parameters
    • Organizes and secures directory structure and assists/trains staff members in the use of department Document Management (DM) Systems, associated databases and Configuration Management (CM)/ DM release procedures
    • Specifies hardware requirements and provides Computer Authorization and custodial receipt listings to track equipment configurations and identification logs
    • Serves as point of contact (POC) for problem reporting, incremental version updates and monitors yearly support contracts
    • Makes recommendations for future hardware/software implementations and related process improvements, schedules, plans and performs system upgrades including the transition from design, test, production and documentation environments
    • Provides operational status as required
    • Uses established policies, procedures, and subject matter knowledge to complete complex assignments requiring originality and ingenuity performed under minimum supervision with considerable latitude for independent contribution
    • Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems
    • Manage and administer storage solutions including Network-Attached Storage and Storage Area Network (NAS/SAN) systems
    • Research, integrate, or place new technologies into the existing data center
    • Other duties as required RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION The job duties of a System Administrator V include but are not limited to; deploying end user client hardware, configuring information system services, design and deploy of advanced services and features, meeting with senior officials, review of system engineering designs, configuring server/network equipment, team leadership, project management, task delegation and addressing any end user concerns
    The System Administrator will be responsible for all hardware and software operation of the enterprise information system computing environment

    Hardware responsibilities include:

    • Integration of new hardware
    • Patching and compliance configuration of existing hardware
    • Troubleshooting/repair of individual components
    • Lifecycle management Software responsibilities include:
    • Design and deployment of new features/services
    • Troubleshooting and reconfiguration of existing services
    • Patching and compliance updates
    • Performance tuning to heighten end user experiences The System Administrator V is also a team lead, responsible for the tasking of and mentoring of junior system administrators
    This includes project lead roles/responsibilities, assigning tasks, monitoring assigned projects and individual mentoring events
    The candidate will be knowledgeable in a variety of operating systems such as: Windows 11, Microsoft Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Photon OS
    The candidate will also need a thorough understanding of Enterprise Information System Topologies and concepts, such as: automation, virtualization, network configuration, network services, authentication system management, system design concepts, event monitoring and analysis, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and incident response
    The candidate will also need an understanding of personnel management and project management
    The candidate will work other tasks as assigned, including being cross utilized in other sections of the department and will be required to learn to operate and maintain said systems
    The candidate must be willing to work nonstandard and overtime hours as well as nights, weekends, and holidays
    The overtime may be short or no notice
    The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to Top Secret with Special Access
    The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification within 6 months of date hired
    The candidate must be able to work independently, as a member of a team, and as a small team leader
    To complete each of these tasks, the candidate must have strong verbal and written communications skills
    REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE A bachelor's degree in associated discipline from an accredited academic institution or equivalent experience through technical training, completion of a recognized certification program, or experience
    Requires at least 12 years of experience in computer system related areas of expertise and must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems
    In addition, a Systems Administrator V must possess the following qualifications:


    • Must have specific experience in the maintenance of Operating Systems and support applications, in a centralized and distributed server environment
    • Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
    • Must possess valid, state-issued driver's license SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $92,164 to $129,209 annually

    The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
    Will be asked to make functional the initiatives established by management and will coordinate with other organizations as affected by upgrades, capabilities, policy and procedures

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards
    There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness
    The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines
