Duties:

As the Principal Deputy Director for the Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains you will:

  • Oversee and direct subordinate offices senior executive Deputy Directors, including Business Operations, Analysis and Strategic Investment, Batteries and Critical Materials, and Manufacturing and Workforce Deployment.
  • Responsible for catalyzing the energy sector industrial base through targeted investments that establish and secure domestic clean energy supply chains and manufacturing.
  • Ensure that MESC serves as a supply chain and project management center of excellence for the Department of Energy.
  • Directs organizational activities and framing strategic plans based on broad organizational assessments and evaluations of longterm organizational objectives.
  • Determine financial and personnel resources needed to achieve mission objectives and support mission operations.
  • Leads Department's efforts to enhance and accelerate clean energy demonstrations.
  • Represents the Office in meetings with high level officials within and outside the Federal Government, state and local government, Congress, and industry leaders.
  • May Act as MESC Director during absences.

You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.


BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION:
You must pass a background investigation.


PUBLIC FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE REPORT (OGE 278): If you are selected for this position, you will be required to file this report prior to entry on duty in accordance with the Ethics of Government Act of 1978.


SECURITY CLEARANCE:
You must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance


DRUG TESTING:

As a condition of appointment to this position, if you are selected, you will be required to pass a drug test.

If you fail to take the test or fail the test, you will no longer be considered for the job.


PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
You must complete a one-year SES probationary period.


SELECTIVE SERVICE:

MOBILITY:
A mobility agreement may be required based on mission needs.


Qualifications:

MTQ 1: Describe your knowledge and work experience in leading strategy development, funding program management, and project delivery management across a portfolio of large, complex commercialization-scale clean energy manufacturing projects.

MTQ 2:

Describe your experience building and leading a matrixed, diverse team to support both strategic analysis as well as deployment of high-profile commercial-scale energy projects.
