Position: Clinical Coordinator

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for directly supporting the Assistant Director and/or the Program Director in the overall operation and administration of the site and the programs they oversee in accordance with all OASAS 822, Medicaid and State/County regulations for outpatient substance use disorder treatment. The coordinator works with the unit's management team to monitor and implement policies and procedures that encourage effective therapeutic intervention. Ensures oversight and provides leadership in the absence of the Assistant Director and/or Program Director. The Program Coordinator serves as a member of the unit management team. They manage a caseload and ensure appropriate levels of care and appropriate clinical interventions. 

Job Scope

  • Provides daily oversight and monitoring of clinical program development and planning.  
  • Provides oversight of crisis intervention management, interventions and training.
  • Carries small co-occurring/high risk caseload.
  • Assists in coordinating and facilitating all clinical meetings.
  • Provides individual and group clinical supervision to assigned clinical staff, adhering to supervision quality standards; provide/ensure consistent supervision as assigned.  
  • Directly observes clinical practice of supervisees, document supervisory sessions; engage employees in review and design of performance review and development plan.  
  • Monitors program performance with the Assistant Director/Program Director, including but not limited to units of service objectives, productivity standards, annual goals, and the overall delivery of services.  
  • Actively participates in all meetings (i.e., staff meetings, case conference, team meetings and individual/group supervision) by being prepared, utilizing problem-solving skills and providing appropriate feedback to team members.  
  • Support and maintain communication and teamwork with referents and other collateral agencies (i.e., Probation, Parole, CPS/ACS, Drug Court, Family Court) to integrate and enhance clinical services.  
  • Identify, plan and implement appropriate activities under the direction of the Program Director in order to improve program performance and ensure and maintain a census at the appropriate program level.  
  • Complete and manage all assigned monthly reporting requirements in compliance with company policy, standards, and funding sources in a timely manner.  
  • Review charts for all program clients to monitor compliance and timely documentation.  
  • Exercise due diligence in the delivery of quality care in line with company Medicaid Compliance Plan and systems of accountability.  
  • Monitor program performance and outcomes in conjunction with Director.  
  • Ensure communication through the compliance officer and/or the supervisory structure of any violation of non-compliance with the company's Medicaid compliance plan and personnel policy and procedure.  
  • Develop skills to manage multiple priorities and ensure timely responses and reporting of program data and staff activity. Review and submit schedules to ensure effective utilization of time and reports.

These goals are intended to provide each job holder the knowledge they need about expected performance.  Accomplishments against these goals will be a discussion point in the annual evaluation.

Assistant Director/ Program Director.

Qualifications

  1. CASAC, CASAC-T, CRC, LMHC, LMSW, LMFT, LCSW or higher preferred.
  2. 2-3 years of strong program management  
  3. 1-2 years of clinical supervisory experience in an OASAS funded facility 
  4. Commitment to quality programs and outcome driven program evaluation 
  5. Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve program objectives, and manage a budget 
  6. Strong networking and public relations skill with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, populations, and cultures 
  7. Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning 
  8. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people 

Position Status

This is a full-time non-exempt position. 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and outside in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to travel among assigned sites and locations as needed.
