    Description

    Overview:

    Insight Global is seeking a driven and determine financial minded individual to join the Tax Department of one of our largest clients within the Oil & Gas world.

    This individual will be responsible for supporting multiple different financial functions of the property team, but most importantly, the property tax deliverables such as returns, reconciliations, bills, etc.

    as related to the property ownership.

    This person will have a sharp eye for detail, a strong sense of determination as well as an ability to problem solve in a fast past environment.

    With a fluctuating work load depending on the time of year, this person will be integral to the success and support of this internal team during busy season.



    Day to Day:
    Preparation of monthly and annual severance, escheat and property tax returns (over 100 current returns today)
    Preparation of all property tax bills for payment for all states, including analysis of fluctuations (~5,000 property tax bills today)
    Preparation of other Non-income tax returns such as gross receipts, excise, NGL motor fuels, HST, PERC, etc. (~50 returns today)
    Assistance with tax controversy matters including notices, audits and appeals
    Identify, research and document Non-income tax issues and conclusions
    Administrative activities as needed

    Assists with more complex tax reporting matters including tax returns, financial statement reporting, and related tax controversy (non-income tax focused).

    Responsible for increasingly complex federal and state/local tax reporting matters including a knowledge of the tax laws impacting areas of responsibility.

    Assists with the preparation of financial statement tax reporting calculations, accruals and footnote disclosures.

    Assists with tax controversy matters (audits, notices, etc.), maintenance of tax internal controls, process improvements and tax planning projects.

    Resolves various routine and non-routine problems, seeking assistance on complex matters.
    Works on assignments of moderate size, scope, diversity, and/or complexity employing diverse methods and skills.
    Solve business, operational, and technical problems within own job/project scope and possibly in related areas/discipline(s).

    Experience with Indirect Tax (Sales Tax, Excise tax, Value-add tax, (VAT) goods and services tax (GST)

    • Experience specifically within Property Tax
    • Experience with account reconciliation
    • Experience with SalesForce / Quorum / PowerBI / Ultrix / Data Visualizations
    • Experience working with HIGH VOLUME of bills & tax returns (5,000+)
    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
    • 2+ years of experience within tax
    • Strong problem solver
    • Comfortable working independently
    • Good communication skills
