$ USD**McCain Food's Appetizer facility in Plover, WI is a large-scale food processing plant manufacturing a wide variety of specialty appetizer products including mozzarella sticks and cheese curds. We employ approximately 270 employees and there are many opportunities to advance and grow while making fun food


Position Summary:


As the Maintenance and Utility Technician you will have the opportunity to work on all aspects of food processing equipment preventative maintenance as well as refrigeration system maintenance, ventilation, and wastewater systems.

You will be utilizing your skills to repair and maintain all related production equipment in a safe and efficient manner and contribute to the production of our quality products


Key Responsibilities:

1.

Operate, repair, troubleshoot, adjust and maintain various types of equipment and systems of the plant.

2.


Performs assigned and emergency work including but not limited to motor repair, gear boxes, disconnects, cords and connectors, phot eyes, solenoid valves, overload protection devices, temperature sensors, resetting scale buckets, etc.

3.

Provides technical expertise to fellow employees and advise them when needed.

4.

Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical/electrical issues for all assets.

5.

Responds to trouble calls and emergency repair of equipment routinely and efficiently.

6.

Understand the concepts and participates in the techniques of MCE and quality process.

Accountable for work order assignments, area uptime, and reliability.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent, a twoyear technical college degree, preferred.
  • Electrical and mechanical knowledge equivalent to certificate series program minimum, Electromechanical degree or Journeyman status preferred.
  • Experience working with ammonia systems is preferred
  • Must have good understanding of mechanical, electrical prints, schematics, wiring diagrams associated with field.
  • Two years working knowledge of food processing equipment, preferred
  • Requires a high degree of mental skill, a considerable to high degree of manual skill, and a considerable degree of initiative and independence.
  • Requires constant care to avoid moderate damage to equipment and considerable care to avoid moderate damage of product and serious injury of self and others.
  • Must have own tools to perform related tasks safely.

Physical Demand:


Constant:
Walking, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, and twisting at the neck and waist. Walking up and down a flight of stairs. Requires a high degree of physical effort and occasionally working in awkward positions.
