    Packaging Design Engineer

    Location: St. Louis, Missouri

    Job Location: Remote

    Position Summary:

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with client on package development within a stage gate process
    • Work closely with packaging supplier to ensure packaging requirements are met
    • Work closely with equipment vendors to ensure packaging meets machinability requirements
    • Work closely with client to ensure that key product requirements are identified and delivered
    • Assist with distribution testing where appropriate
    • Attend QC packaging qualifications and report on RQL statistics
    • Conduct quality inspections and perform root cause analysis
    • Assist with field inspections to evaluate storage and transportation damage
    • Develop packaging specifications for new and/or existing products
    • Actively participate on multiple cross-functional project teams
    • Remotely based position with project related travel up to 50% required

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BS in Packaging, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or other related area
    • years of packaging/manufacturing experience
    • Ability to handle multiple projects at a time
    • Capable of making sound technical decisions on a wide range of issues regarding both packaging materials and packaging equipment
    • Knowledge of packaging materials
    • Capable of capital estimating and project scoping
    • Knowledge of the food and beverage industry; hot fill, cold fill and chilled beverages
    • Experience with consumer products a plus

    Desired Skills:

    • Must be able to lead/manage project work in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Competence in ArtiosCAD or AutoCAD a plus

    Competence in TOPS or Cape a plus
