    Description

    KSI Engineering, Inc. is looking for a SeniorPiping Designer who is interested in joining a multi-disciplinary team focused on serving relationship-based clients and internal business units across multiple states.

    KSI is a privately-owned, sole-source service provider of engineering, fabrication, construction, and maintenance services to multiple industries including upstream oil and gas production, natural gas treating and transportation, refining, co-generation, heavy industrial, utility, water treatment, and all types of pipelines. Prioritizing innovation and technology integration with our day-to-day operations, we are committed to providing best-in-class services to customers while developing and cross-training our team.

    Senior Piping Designer's responsibilities will be focused on supporting our existing customer base while also supporting internal stakeholders through the development of KSI-specific standards. Successful candidates will exhibit proven experience in the use of CADWorx, Plant3D, or comparable programs in their career.

    Outstanding candidates should possess strong communication & interpersonal skills, have experience working in design project teams, leading discipline-specific initiatives, and be proficient with techniques and commands.

    Essential Job Functions

    1. Prepare 3D models associated with a variety of industry and project scopes of work.
    2. Interpret engineering & construction drawings/schematics, including P&ID's.
    3. Produce fit-for-purpose design packages catered to the construction/execution teams.
    4. Integrate aerial, laser scan, and survey data into 3D models.
    5. Responsible for participating in feasibility studies; conceptual studies; process planning; project scoping; economic and alternative technology studies.
    6. Contribute to project cost estimating and scheduling; procurement support and expediting; construction management; document management systems.
    7. Participate in team meetings and keep active communication with customers and management.
    8. Draw master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
    9. Work with a project team lead where the team consists of other designers, drafters, construction personnel, and project-specific engineering disciplines.
    10. Explain drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments, as necessary.
    11. Compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety regulatory requirements, applicable code, programs, policies and procedures.
    12. Follow all KSI Engineering, Inc. safety, and customer policies and procedures.
    13. Additional tasks as required.
    14. Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to read and write in English
    • Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English
    • Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones etc.)
    • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office
    • Experience with CADWorx, Plant3D, and/or similar software
    • Advanced experience with AutoCAD
    • Knowledge and experience using survey data as it pertains to 3D model preparation
    • Must be detail oriented
    • Problem solving skills
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize
    • Must be able to work in a team environment

    Education and Experience

    Preferably 8+ years of industry experience along with knowledge of tools.

    Physical & Mental Requirements

    Lifting/Pulling/Jerking/Grasping/Raising/Lowering: Must be able to lift, grasp up to 50 lbs. with the use of fingers, palm and wrists to hold and/or manipulate objects (hammers, saws, pencils, pens etc.) Must be able to raise and lower objects from one level to another.

    Squatting/Twisting/Bend/Reaching/Stooping/Squatting/Kneeling: Must be able to twist, squat, kneel and bend in various positions with or without objects.

    Pushing: Must be able to exert force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force.

    Carry/Support: Must be able to carry and provide support to objects, usually holding it in hands, arms and/or on the shoulders.

    Body Positions; Supine/Seated/Standing: Must be able to work in a supine, seated or standing position.

    Working Conditions: The work environment and working conditions described here are representative of those that are typical of the job and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).

    Working Hours: Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-8's and modified 9/80 schedules. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed.
