    Roper, Townsend & Sutphen, P.A. is an established, expanding Orlando civil litigation defense law firm seeking a motivated, ambitious and career-oriented litigator with a minimum of five years' experience in automobile and general liability defense litigation. The firm has a diverse litigation practice which is focused upon the representation of private entities and governmental clients, including national insurers and prominent self-insured companies, in both state and federal court. Areas of practice for this position would include the defense of bodily injury and wrongful death, automobile liability, commercial trucking, professional liability, products liability and premises liability lawsuits.

    The firm's experienced trial lawyers have an established track record of working collaboratively to mentor associates to facilitate their professional development, while maintaining the highest standards of legal representation for the firm's valued clients. The firm encourages associates, upon demonstrated knowledge and ability, to exercise direct responsibility for the strategy and handling of assigned matters.

    Candidates must be barred in Florida with a strong understanding of litigation and trial work.

    Job description:

    Responsible for handling all aspects of civil litigation, under the supervision of a partner, to include preparation of pleadings, motions and other filings; participate in discovery, including attendance at depositions; attend hearings, mediations and trial; report to and communicate with clients, witnesses and adjusters; legal research and writing; and the analysis and evaluation of cases. Specific duties and responsibilities would be assigned based upon the successful candidate's level of experience and demonstrated abilities.

    Candidates must possess:

    · Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to effectively advocate, analyze, express ideas, present facts and advance legal arguments clearly and persuasively

    · Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain diligence in communicating and advising clients

    · Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and accomplish tasks in a timely and efficient manner to meet strict deadlines

    · A strong desire to excel and develop skills as a litigator in order to contribute to the firm's high standards and reputation for excellence and ethics in the community

    The position offers a hybrid work model, competitive salary, bi-annual non-discretionary bonus, health insurance, profit-sharing, 401k benefits, disability coverage and three weeks of paid time off.

    Salary: Competitive and commensurate with candidate's experience and qualifications.
