Job SummaryLet's move your career forward and feed hungry minds with Chartwells at the University of Toledo, OhioWorking as a Senior Executive Chef and supporting retail dining, residential dining/food halls, concessions/premium suites, and catering, will allow you the opportunity to expand your culinary and operation skills in the exciting higher education arena.

This role will combine your enthusiasm and culinary training with a strong drive for operational excellence. You will be responsible for menu development, computerized inventory and purchasing, food cost controls, and staff management. You will lead and develop a team of associates. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelops high culinary standards for retail, board meals, dining, concessions, and catering operationsTrains, develops and provides inspirational leadership to culinary teamsLeads Corporate Social Responsibility, food seasonality, health/wellness and high-quality culinary arts on campusAnalyzes ongoing performance and trends in the local operation and leads improvementsDemonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and quality standards

Preferred Qualifications:

Culinary degree preferred but not requiredThree to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or trainingExperience with planning and leading catering events from a culinary perspectiveStrong leadership skills and desire to work with an industry leaderComprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentationProficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email and the Internet)Ability to communicate on various levels including management, departmental, customer and associateServSafe Certification Apply to Chartwells Higher Education todayChartwells Higher Education is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
