- Assist in planning and preparing a wide range of culinary creations.
- Supervise food preparation, ensuring quality, presentation, and adherence to recipes.
- Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef or Executive Chef.
- Monitor food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef or Executive Chef to create and update menus.
- Provide input on new dishes, special features, and seasonal offerings.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they meet culinary standards.
- Lead by example and foster a positive work environment.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain proper stock rotation.
- Monitor food costs and assist in budget management.
- Conduct taste tests and inspections to maintain food quality and consistency.
- Ensure that food is prepared and presented to meet high-quality standards.
- Develop and maintain culinary recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Update cooking techniques and processes as necessary.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to address guest preferences and special requests.
- Address any customer feedback or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Culinary degree or equivalent culinary certification (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
