    Job Summary:


    Arlo Chicago, a luxury hotel in the heart of Chicago, is seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Cuisine to join our team.

    As the Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the culinary operations at our hotel's restaurant.

    This is a full-time, individual contributor role with a competitive salary and benefits.


    Compensation & Benefits:
    This position offers a competitive salary of $75,000 per year, paid biweekly.

    In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development and growth within our organization.


    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant kitchen, including food production, preparation, and presentation
    • Develop and maintain menus that reflect the hotel's overall concept and brand
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations
    • Train and supervise kitchen staff in proper food preparation techniques and food handling procedures
    • Create and maintain inventory and cost control procedures to minimize waste and maximize profitability
    • Collaborate with the hotel's management team to develop and implement creative ideas for menu items and special promotions
    • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
    • Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and lead by example in providing exceptional service to our guests

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Chef de Cuisine in a high-volume, luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant
    • Culinary degree or equivalent training and experience
    • Strong understanding of food cost, budgeting, and inventory management
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
    • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
    • Knowledge of current food trends and techniques
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
    • Must have a valid food handler's certification
